Silicon Valley's goal of techifying manufacturing is misguided
On almost any metric…speed, volume, price… the older methods of manufacture are better. At least SpaceX seems to get it, even if A16Z does not.
3D printing and CNC only outperform for iterative prototyping and supply chain stopgaps for multiple different parts ( and even then speed is an issue).
